This week we did our first shop for the Rutland Foodbank – a local charity to us that we’ve chosen to support regularly.
We decided to head for Aldi this month, and with £28 of donations to spend we really filled up the trolley!
We planned to choose items from the foodbank’s most-needed list and we managed to get a lot from it – sadly no sponge puddings or packet mashed potato, but we bought many other items that we take for granted.
We had toilet rolls, pasta sauce, spaghetti, tinned tomatoes, orange juice, dog food, shampoo, deodorant, washing-up liquid and more…
We dropped off our items at All Saints Church in Oakham – there is a foodbank box to the left of the organ where you can drop off items.
