Earlier this month we visited the stunning Blenheim Palace…
While we were there we discovered the palace’s links with the House of Dior and explored the ‘A Passion for Fashion’ exhibition – completely by chance as we had no idea it was on.
The exhibition is spread throughout the palace state rooms and the articles on display span 300 years and garments from underwear to hats to fabulous 50s dresses… of course that was the best bit for us!
There were every day items as well as glamorous gowns from throughout history and an iconic black cocktail dress worn by Princess Diana.
You can even take a turn on the catwalk used by Dior for the launch of their Cruise collection last year.
Also at the palace is an exhibition dedicated to the life of Sir Winston Churchill, born at Blenheim and buried here too. For the fashion-lovers among us, there’s photos of Churchill with Coco Chanel, too.
You’ll find magnificent rooms, beautiful gardens and parkland, plus a little train to take you to the Pleasure Gardens, which feature a maze, adventure playground, a small model village and a butterfly house.
‘A Passion for Fashion’ runs until 23 April 2017 – discover more at www.blenheimpalace.com
