We didn’t quite have the ingredients for a classic Floradora, so we put our own twist on this one…
In a highball glass filled with ice cubes, pour in the following:
40ml Ely Gin Company Raspberry Gin
20ml fresh lime juice
Teaspoon of syrup from a jar of Luxardo Maraschino cherries
Top up with ginger beer
Serve with a stirrer – you can garnish with raspberries, cherries or a sprig of something too if you wish!
The classic Floradora is gin, lime, 10ml of raspberry syrup or Chambord and ginger ale. It was originally named after a Broadway musical ‘Florodora’, which originally opened in London’s West End in 1899 before becoming successful in New York. The cocktail was a popular choice in New York throughout the early twentieth century.
